About the position
GSK has a Senior Director, In Vivo Sciences and Delivery opportunity to be accountable for all technical operational responsibilities for the program’s research animal care and use programs within the US geographic locations. This position will define, implement, and communicate operational technical strategies and practices as they pertain to vivarium operations. Major responsibilities include in vivo research partnerships, strategy development, talent management, staff development, metrics project management, management and preparation of budgets vivarium operations, tracking spend, operational efficiency programs and process and critical path analyses for workforce planning.
Minimum Requirements:
We are looking for laboratory animal science professional with these required skills to achieve our goals:
• Bachelor of Science (BS) in Animal Sciences or an equivalent life sciences degree
• Certified Manager for Animal Resources (CMAR)
• Registered Laboratory Animal Technologist (LATG)
• Certificate from Institute for Laboratory Animal Management (ILAM)
• Master of Business Administration (MBA)
• AAALAC, International Ad Hoc Site Visitor and/or experience
• Experience leading a global group responsible for delivering tactical and operational management of multi-site animal facility programs
• Track record of competency in leadership skills, critical thinking, proactive operational excellence, and strategic planning with the ability to build networks and manage by influence across a diverse and inclusive customer and stakeholder base
• Strong change management skills
• Development and implementation of animal facility management business standard tools of per diem rates along with Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models for workforce planning, capacity planning with different preclinical models, operating models and animal facility design and operations
• Extensive knowledge of operational functions and ability to communicate on strategic resourcing for operational capabilities of vivarium equipment and its functionality
• Strong customer focus and ability to influence (interested in and responsive to new science and technology approaches in drug discovery to enhance impact to the portfolio)
