About the position
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
**Assists in the planning, directs and coordinates the day to day operational activities of the Animal Care group and vivarium facilities.
**Works with Manager to assure the operation is operating within an operational budget of 26 million.
**Maintains a safe and healthy work environment for Associates by establishing and enforcing organizational safety standards and adhering to legal regulations.
**Participates in achieving client expectation for timelessness of laboratory studies by maximizing vivarium capacity, efficient use of caging and space.
**Responsible for ordering/receiving/acclimating animals to support testing needs
**Participates in qualifying vendors and ensuring they meet NAMSA requirements/needs
**Assists in leading audits for USDA and AAALAC inspections.
Qualifications and Skills
**Bachelor of Science in a scientific discipline
5 years of related lab experience, including 2-3 years supervisory experience.
**Regulatory Interface and P&L experience required.
