About the position
SoBran is currently seeking a Facility Manager for our client facility in Browns Summit, North Carolina.
Understand and ensure staff and facility users follow all Standard Operating Procedures, SoBran Company Policies, and Quality Assurance Standards.
Ensure that animals are cared for and maintained in accordance with the Animal Welfare Regulations and the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals.
Ensure compliance with GLP documentation and study conduct standards as per 21 CFR, part 58
Schedule work assignments and ensure successful execution of daily tasks per Protocol and SOPs.
Report all animal and personnel issues and concerns to the appropriate chain of command.
Restrain, handle, and manipulate small and large animal species.
Ensure all staff and other animal users are appropriately trained for each assigned task.
Perform quality assurance reviews of the facility at least once a week.
Lead regulatory site visits (FDA, USDA, DEA, AALAC, etc.)
Operate and maintain anesthesia equipment, blood analysis machines, or related equipment.
Assist with husbandry and general facility operations duties as needed.
Oversee and assist with contract research study execution including data collection, dose administration, necropsy/surgical procedures, sample collection, and euthanasia.
Create, maintain, and organize study specific forms as directed.
Maintain facility records and document archives.
Prepare census and billing reports.
Order study supplies and maintain inventories of supplies and equipment.
Maintain and foster good working relationships with internal and external clients on a daily basis.
Interview potential applicants for open positions.
Set and clarify goals for all staff, conduct disciplinary sessions and performance reviews.
Lead by example in ways that exceeds the expectations of the staff.
Propose and implement process improvements to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
Must have 5 years’ experience working in an animal facility, including some supervisory experience.
Must have a Bachelors degree in Biology, Animal Science or other related discipline.
Certified by the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science as a Laboratory Animal Technologist (LATg).
Proficiency with computer programs
Working knowledge of GLP requirements as per 21 CFR, part 58 is required.
