Research Resources Facilities Manager
The University of Louisville, Department of Research Resources Facilities (RRF) is currently seeking a Facilities Manager. This position will support vivarium operations by managing 10 animal facilities and animal housing locations on our three campuses (Health Sciences, Belknap, ShelbyHurst) and processes, delivering excellent animal care and welfare. Will manage approximately 40 husbandry and cage wash staff and their supervisors. Be an integral member of the management team to assure the quality of care and the animal facility environment is in compliance with local and federal regulations and AAALAC International guidelines. Contribute to quality assurance and operational efficiency programs as directed. Provide support to the Research Resources Facilities Director to help ensure resources are aligned with needs and prioritization. Requirements for this position are: Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science, Animal Health, or related area. AALAS Certification at the Technologist level and completion of the AALAS Laboratory Managers Course (ILAM) may be required and six years of related experience. Additional experience may be used on a one-to-one basis to offset the educational requirements.
